What Happened to the Gospel of the Kingdom?
Slowly but sure, the simple gospel of the Kingdom has turned into business. If you have not noticed, or maybe you have and ignored the signs, let me awaken all of us. I travel the world preaching the gospel mostly to Countries that are referred to as the third world Countries. Living in USA, gives me a different picture of the same. When Jesus sent his disciples, to the world to preach the gospel, they were not Americans, neither were they rich Europeans, They were fishermen from Israel who he called from their fishing, and made them fishers of Men. Let's see what he told them: Mathew 10:7-15 And as ye go, preach, saying, The Kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8; Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast our devils: freely ye have received, freely give. 9; Provide neither gold nor silver, nor brass in your purses, 10: Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves; for the workman is worthy of his meat.11; And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worth; and there abide till ye go thence. 12: And when ye come into a house, salute it. 13; And if the house be worth, let your peace come upon it; But if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14; And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of the house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15: Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgement, than for that City. When we travel to some countries, (given that we live, travel and preach by faith), we are faced sometime by very embarrassing situations when our hosting ministers expect money from us because we are Americans. It is almost impossible to go and preach anywhere out of America because most of the people when they see anyone from America or Europe, instead of seeing the love of God that has caused them to leave their countries and go preach, and thus expect to hear what the Lord is saying, they look at them with the eyes of what their pockets has. Partly I blame some missionaries who instead of introducing God to the people introduced their pockets, and partly I also blame the recipients, because if they truly are looking for God, they should not look at men to meet their needs. If a preacher is blessed and is able to meet needs on the mission field, it is a great blessing, but it should not be the number one reason for us to go. Jesus said," Go ye to the world and preach the gospel, not go ye and build schools or even orphanages or even churches. This are all good works, but our number one priority should be preaching the gospel of the kingdom and telling people to repent or perish. It is sad to see how much of this is going on in the true sense. More business that preaching. As good as business is, I pledged allegiance to the Cross, and prefer preaching the gospel that saved my life. It was the anointing, that broke the yokes in my life, and it is the anointing that breaks the yokes of the devil wherever I go. It is not how much money I have. I hope and pray that preachers world wide will go back to the basics of the gospel, because the Lord is coming quickly, and his reward is with him, to give to each one of us, according to our works, (Rev 22:12)
